Alpine Ford – Recommended service and maintenance schedule for Ford Super Duty F-250

At Alpine Ford, we know your Ford Super Duty F-250 is built to conquer demanding jobs, long towing days, and rugged miles. Keeping it performing at its best takes a plan—one that fits how you drive, what you tow, and the conditions you face. Our factory-trained technicians use genuine Motorcraft® parts, advanced diagnostics, and detailed multi-point inspections to help you stay ahead of wear and tear while protecting long-term value. Whether you drive gas or Power Stroke® diesel, we tailor maintenance to your duty cycle, climate, and payloads, and we can document service history to support warranty needs and future resale. From quick oil changes and rotations to diesel fuel filter service, axle and transfer case care, and brake and cooling system maintenance, we make it straightforward and transparent. We’re proud to be serving in Pueblo, CO, Colorado Springs, and Canon City, offering flexible scheduling, clear estimates, and maintenance reminders designed around real-world use. The general schedule below covers common needs across most model years; actual intervals can vary by engine, model year, and use case. Always consult your Owner’s Manual and contact the manufacturer or our service team for specifics, especially if you tow frequently, idle often, or operate in dust, cold, or mountainous conditions.

  1. Every month: Check tire pressures, tire condition, exterior lights, wiper blades, and all fluids; top off Diesel Exhaust Fluid on diesel models.
  2. Every 5,000-7,500 miles or 6 months: Change engine oil and filter, rotate tires, inspect brakes, steering, and suspension; check alignment if you notice pull or uneven wear.
  3. 15,000-20,000 miles: Replace Power Stroke® diesel fuel filters, inspect engine air filter, service front hubs if equipped, and clean battery terminals.
  4. 30,000 miles or sooner for severe duty: Replace engine air filter as needed, inspect transfer case and axle fluids, balance tires, and verify torque on lug nuts.
  5. Every 3 years: Replace brake fluid, test coolant condition, and replace the cabin air filter if equipped.
  6. 60,000 miles: Inspect transmission fluid and service based on use and temperature load; inspect belts, hoses, and 4×4 components.
  7. 100,000 miles: Replace coolant, replace spark plugs on applicable gas engines, inspect water pump, and service front and rear axle fluids as needed.
  8. Before and after towing season: Request a full multi-point inspection, verify trailer brake controller operation, and test 7-pin trailer wiring.

Our team makes maintenance easy with clear recommendations, photos and videos from your inspection, and parts designed to meet Ford® specs. We handle the details—DEF top-offs, diesel-specific tests, brake and rotor measurements, and alignment checks after tire rotations—so your F-250 tracks straight, tows confidently, and stops smoothly. If your truck sees heavy loads, frequent mountain drives, or jobsite dust, ask us to customize a severe-service plan and interval tracker. Disclaimers: schedules vary by model year, engine, and use; always follow the Owner’s Manual and contact the manufacturer or our service department for exact guidance.
